The Glowforge Laser is one of our most popular and versatile tools.  It can do some amazing things, but it can pose a danger to people and to itself if it is not used properly.  All materials release fumes or gases when cut, and some materials release extremely harmful gases. PVC (a really common plastic) vaporizes into chlorine gas which can kill people and corrode/destroy machines!  Other materials can easily catch on fire, so you’ve got to keep an eye on the laser while its working!  We’re excited for you to put the Glowforge to work; just make sure you are cutting or engraving on materials that are safe to use and that the machine can handle.  If you’ve got questions, ask!
